Hawk: City of the Dead is book 2 in the Maximum Ride: Hawk sequence. A two-novel continuation in the Maximum Ride world, following Hawk after the central Maximum Ride sequence. It follows Hawk and should be read after that volume. Readers new to the series should begin with Hawk and follow the numbered publication order, which preserves the characters’ continuing development and the story’s intended progression.
