Famed novelist Paul Sheldon is rescued from a severe car crash by Annie Wilkes, who claims to be his 'number one fan'. He soon realizes he is a prisoner in her remote home. Annie forces him to write a new novel, and Paul must use all his cunning to survive her psychotic and violent mood swings.
