Ireta
The Ireta novels follow expeditions to a distant planet whose dinosaur population challenges the human crews sent to survey it. Anne McCaffrey wrote Dinosaur Planet and Dinosaur Planet Survivors. Read those two books in publication order for the Ireta story. The setting connects to the Planet Pirates novels, but their timelines and protagonists cross in ways that do not create one simple continuous sequence.
