View book detailsWesteros Prequels & Companion Books
These optional Westeros books explore the history of House Targaryen and the earlier lives of Dunk and Egg. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is the most story-focused starting point; Fire & Blood and The World of Ice & Fire provide histories and reference material. None is required before A Game of Thrones.
These Westeros companions are optional. Choose A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms for a self-contained story, Fire & Blood for Targaryen history, or The World of Ice & Fire and The Rise of the Dragon for reference and illustrations.
