Anne McCaffrey wrote the first novel alone and co-wrote the two later books with Jody Lynn Nye. Read Decision at Doona, Crisis on Doona and Treaty at Doona in publication order. This sequence follows the relationship between the settlers and the Hrrubans, so the later political changes make most sense after the original landing and first contact.
