The Bard's Tale
These three fantasy adventures draw on the world and lore of The Bards Tale games, while telling original stories about musicians whose Bardic skills shape their adventures. The books follow different protagonists and do not form one continuous plot: Castle of Deception introduces Kevin and a tangled rescue, Fortress of Frost and Fire follows Naitachal and his apprentice Gawaine, and Prison of Souls sends Naitachal and a new apprentice on a diplomatic mission where magic is forbidden. Read the three Lackey novels in publication order for a useful route through her contributions.
